What can I say? Bullard does it again with this latest installment of Facets of Reality. Although I had to wait YEARS to get this book, it was well worth the effort. The story picks up from the pages of book one (always a good idea in my opinion when it comes to sequels) and we follow Sal down the rabbit hole once more. The twist and turns of this book are out of sight. Although my favorite so far is book one, book two leaves me panting for me. I love how Sal and all his cohorts grow in powers, and how the political alliances are established or destroy.Although there are a ton of characters, you're able to follow each one which is no small feat for an author to do. Suffice to say, I loved the second book and can't wait till the next one.

Thought the first book was decent, but this I quit at 50% complete.
The author takes his story to a whole new level with the latest expansion of this series. The growth of the characters and the political intrigues are definitely going to keep reader's interests. The author has improved his story telling skills and delivers a wonderful masterpiece. There is definitely a subliminal evangelical under tone, but it is good. I am excitedly looking forward to Mr. Bullard's next work as he continues to develop these characters, his world, and his writing skills.
I love this world. I want to know more about it. I appreciate the somewhat Biblical worldview. The various gem magics are the most interesting part to me. Can't wait for the next one
I have never read a fantasy story before this one. I fell in love with the characters and their world. Can't wait for a third book.
Any writers first book can be a bit fumbling as it feels about for introductions to a time, place and the beings who inhabit that realm. Sometimes the second book can be just as bad...but NOT in this instance! With Facets, Mr. Bullard takes his very unique vision and places the reader on a page turning thrill ride of deepening characters, twists to the plot, and revelations about the world they live in...definitely not your normal spec fic fare!
I am again amazed by how much I enjoyed this story! I love the world, I love the magic, and I love the characters. This is the type of story I am always on the lookout for. Though I don't think book 2 covers as much time as book 1 did, the story advances so much. Mr. Bullard hides so many gems (lol) in a casual reference or in an oddly spelled name; there are clues scattered throughout about what's really going on. It's great! Can't wait for book 3, so many individual plots I'm dying to find out more about!
I thoroughly enjoyed this story with a fascinating magic system, complex situations, and a surprise! in the middle. I'm looking forward to the next book and discovering what the surprise! is all about. Although there is a cast of thousands, the main dozen people are easy to differentiate and all of them are interesting. This is a wonderful, sprawling epic fantasy with nary a fairy nor dwarf in sight. Salvatore, the navy seal, thrust into a world he doesn't understand yet, must avoid assassination while fighting for the people he comes to love.
